Exposed aggregate concrete

Exposed aggregate is a poured concrete finish where the surface cement is washed back to reveal the stone. We place it for driveways, paths, pool surrounds and patios, with your choice of aggregate blend, oxide colour and sealer. We pour exposed aggregate at a minimum of 32 MPa for durability. Tell us the look you want and we can supply a sample board of the blend before you commit.

Based in Keilor East, Melbourne. Working across metropolitan and regional Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.

How it runs

  1. Choose finish, colour, aggregate and sealer; ask for a sample board
  2. Site visit and written scope with the agreed specification
  3. Pour, expose and wash within the right window for the weather
  4. Cure, then clean and seal
  5. Care notes: how to clean it and when to reseal

Questions we get asked

Does exposed aggregate get slippery?

No. The exposed stone gives a textured surface, which is why it's popular around pools. A wet-look sealer adds a little sheen without removing the grip; we advise a matte or satin sealer where slip is a concern.

How often does it need resealing?

Every two to four years depending on traffic and sun exposure. We can reseal existing driveways as well as new ones.

Can I see the finish before you pour?

Yes. We can supply a sample board of your chosen blend and colour, and show you nearby jobs with the same finish.
